Dirt on My Shirt
Dirt on My Shirt by Jeff Foxworthy.
Jeff Foxworthy is a well respected and successful comedian. He is the largest-selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple Grammy Award nominee, and bestselling author of more than twenty-two books.
My group picked this book for the poetry book club. I thought it had a lot of short simple poems for elementary students to read and comprehend. The poems were also very cute for younger students.
I loved this book and I was in Stephanie's group that did it for book club. My favorite poem was the one about grandma. We just loved each poem and felt that young readers could really relate to the different situations. I plan on using this book next week when I work on poetry with my own students. Thanks for sharing!
